OkCupid
I'm OkCupid's first-ever copywriter. There, I helped launch The Deep End, OkCupid's blog that uses data from millions of people to reveal actual facts, such as the fact that listing "avocados" on your dating profile means you are looking for love, while saying "steak" means sex. Or that people who spend more than 8 hours playing video games a day are 25% more likely to sleep with a serial killer. Yes — it's as interesting as it sounds.
I also worked across OkC's digital platforms including Email, dot com, Instagram (photo and video), Facebook, and UX.
Some select projects are below. Enjoy!
New Year's email
A little reminder to ring in the new year with someone special.
The use of brand voice and the distinct subject line "[name], happy New Year. The earth is melting." made this one of the highest-performing emails to date.
If you're not into online dating (or hey, married), OkCupid works (and has been one of the most successful dating apps) because of their questionnaire where users can answer personal questions to improve matches.
Being geniuses, OkCupid data scientists and our marketing team decided to see what kinds of eerie data they could gather for Halloween, which brings us to the Dark Matter Report: An OkCupid Analysis of Strange Human Traits.
My role: creative / copywriter (dot com, social)
